The Awesome Day That Was Wednesday

What an amazing day Wednesday was. I went with half the class to the beach and was treated to a fantastic day. The weather was great and the kids were so excited to be to the beach on such a beautiful day. The day started with a breakfast about French Toast and ham. Then it was off to their daily activities. We jumped on a bus and headed down to the Tide Pools. While at the Tide Pools the kids got to see many different sea creatures. The curiosity and excitement was at an all-time high. Following the Tide Pools we went off to Bean Hollow State Beach. There the students did a few activities relating to erosion and our Echo System. Next the students had a picnic lunch with their cabin mates and naturalists. Finally, we walked over to Pebble Beach and the students learned why this beach was different from the others beaches they may have seen. Once back at camp we had Teacher Time, Cabin Time, Dinner, and then our night time activities. The kids are starting to get a little tired which is easy to see since the cabins are falling asleep a lot faster at night. We have one more full day up here at camp with a very nice hike scheduled and then of course one very important event left – Skit Night. Below are some pictures from beach day.

Tuesday's Adventure

Well it was another beautiful day up here at Outdoor Education. The kids are having an amazing time. They are really doing a great job and making their teachers very proud. I have never seen so many smiling faces. Half of the class went to the beach yesterday (Tuesday) and we were told the weather was spectacular. I wish I had some pictures to share from yesterday but it was not my beach day and I was not there. I will be going with the rest of the students today and I am sure there will be plenty to share when we get back. Last night we had the Earth Dance. In all my years coming here that was the most fun we have ever had at this event. Below are some pictures of the good times. In addition I got some great video of the kids doing an awesome dance that I will definitely be sharing when we get back. Anyways we are off to breakfast to start another busy day.

Monday's Adventure To Camp

Well it was a beautiful first day up here at camp. The weather is fantastic and the kids are loving it. Once we got up to camp the kids went on an orientation hike and got familiar with the camp grounds. There they had lunch with their hiking groups and got to know each other. From there they found out what cabins they were going to be in and then we had move in time. I wish I could say I have some pictures of that but it is a crazy scene and the kids need help with where they need to go and what they need to do. They spent the rest of the day getting accustom to their new surroundings and new friends. Dinner was a fantastic tonight. I have to say it was the best pizza we have ever had up here at camp. As I am writing this (Monday night) the kids are at their night time activities. Our students are either on the night hike or at Ocean Odyssey. The night hike is always a fun time many of the kids start off pretty scared but end up really enjoying the event. Ocean Odyssey is designed to get the kids ready for Beach Day the following day. They learn about the environment they will be exploring and meeting some of the animals they might see. Below are some pictures of both events that our students took part in on Monday night. I will try and update as much as possible over the next few days so please check back and see the good times going on up here at camp.

These are pictures from some of the kids at Ocean Odyssey.

Here is the best pictures I could find from the night hike. I mean it was dark and there are no flash lights on the hike.
