Important Information For Your Parents

Dear Parents,

I hope you and your family had a wonderful and restful Holiday Season.

As we move into the second half of the school year I wanted to update you on a very important change in order to keep you updated on the academic progress of your student. Effective the beginning of January you will be receiving a detailed progress report from me at the end of each unit of study. This report will give you an up-to-date understanding of how your student is doing in class. The report will include a letter grade for homework, tests, and class work. Along with the letter grade there will be an explanation as to why your student earned that particular letter grade.

I believe that these updates will give you a better understanding of how your student is doing and why they are receiving the grade. Progress reports will be sent home every two weeks. Please sign and return them to school the next day. Please contact me if you so not receive these reports so we can determine why you are not receiving them. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Please note that you will continue to receive your weekly behavior reports as in the past.

 Sincerely,

Mr. Williams

Estimados Padres,

Sinceramente,

Mr. Williams

You have to estimate the numbers by rounding. Once you do that you add or subtract. We went over this on the day you were absent and on Friday you did not come to find out so it is going to be difficult.

Do I have to add/subtract the bottom and top number by the same number???????

Itzel

Mr. J. Williams said...

No that is to what you do. You need to round each number to the nearest half number and then you add or subtract those numbers. One thing you might want to do is check out the math support videos on the side of the web page.

In the future Itzel you ally should have done this a few days ago. It is pretty late to be doing this now.

Mr. Williams do we have to simplify the answer when we multiply? - Ysabelle

Mr. J. Williams said...

@ Ysabelle - you do not simply until the end of the problem. After you add or subtract that top number and put it over the LCD you will then simplify. Does that help?

I finished the problem and that was addition and do i simplify the answer even though its addition?

Mr. J. Williams said...

Yes - for example number 1 is 26/40 so you have to simplify it and you get 13/20. Does that help?
